FAITH FORMATION
Faith formation informs, forms, and transforms the person—whether child, youth, or adult—into a robust, vital, and life-giving faith. A holistic faith: a way of the head, heart, and hands.
Faith formation immerses us in a way of life that identifies us as followers of Jesus. Faith formation seeks to help us:
– Grow in our relationship with God throughout our whole life.
– Live as Jesus disciples at home, at work, at school, in the community, and in the world.
– Develop an understanding of the Bible and our faith traditions.
– Deepen our spiritual life and practices.
– Engage in service and mission
– Participate in our faith community’s life and ministry.
We look forward to an opportunity to walk the faith journey with you. We offer the following faith development opportunities:
OCIA Program
Adult Bible Study
Vacation Bible School

NEW FAMILY FAITH FORMATION DIRECTION STARTING IN 2025-2026
Pope Francis’ direction of Family Faith Formation inspires parents to be the protagonists—the driving agents—of their own and their children’s formation in Christ and his Church. Archbishop Lori’s 2022 Pastoral Note on Faith Formation further develops the goals for Family Faith Formation. With the guidance of Pope Francis on Family Faith Formation and Archbishop Lori, we are introducing changes to our Pastoral Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation programs to move us closer to the goal of Family Formation. Starting in September of 2025, Faith Formation will encompass the entire family!
- The formal meeting times for all family faith formation and sacramental preparation will take place on the second and fourth Sunday of the month from 10:30 am until noon. Sessions will run from September through May. Prayer and Liturgy will be an integral part of the formation and preparation process. The start/end time allows families to attend either the English mass before formal meeting times or the Spanish mass after formal meeting times. Bundling Mass and Formation saves families the mid-week trip to campus to attend formation and preparation classes. Additionally, all family members can participate in formation and preparation activities on the same day and at the same time.
- The second Sunday gathering will feature age-appropriate formation breakouts for both adults and youth. Youth eligible for the sacraments would attend sacramental preparation as their breakout session, separate from the ordinary, ongoing faith formation. Two sacramental preparation breakouts will be in place.
- Youth will complete both First Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation beginning in grade 2 (age 7).
- Beginning in grade 8 (at age 13), youth can participate in Confirmation preparation.
- The fourth Sunday gathering will focus on family experiences and encounters to engage the entire family.
Our goals for our new approach to formation/preparation
- Provides a family-first focus by engaging the entire family in formation/preparation.
- Respect family time & encourage a habit of attending Mass!
- Provides opportunities to engage with other pastorate families.
- Provides meaningful experience to encounter Jesus – prayer, workshops, mini-retreats
- Connects service to Jesus and His mission – family service projects
- Sacramental preparation in person with peers supported by the family.
